Session 1: Jr. Day Camp: June 24th to July 5th
Description
Morning 8:30-12
Junior Day Camp PK3-PK4 is designed for campers who will be three by January 1, 2024.

Entering Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4: Full Day Option Only
Campers must be toilet trained and independent in the bathroom.
Our Junior Day campers gain self-confidence and foundational skills for lifelong learning through teacher-guided investigations and independent exploration. Campers collaborate and play together, engaging in hands-on learning with diverse, cross-curricular instructional materials and age-appropriate vocabulary. All this in a closely monitored, safe, and clean environment.

This program is designed for our youngest campers, allowing additional time for transitions to build independence, while also providing the opportunity to expand their curiosity through periods of structured play. With an experienced professional teacher and select counselors in each class, Junior Day groups maintain a low camper to teacher ratio, allowing a responsive, safe, and enriching environment where learning is happening all the time and campers are truly known!

A regular day includes a familiar rhythm of indoor play, circle time, snacks, and outdoor activities. Campers will explore themes in art, science, math, literacy, and music. Junior Day provides both full and half-day options for campers.

Afternoon 12 -3 pm
The afternoon includes lunchtime (campers must bring their own bag lunch), naptime, and activities that stimulate communication and social skills, fine and gross motor movement, and creative thought. This full-day option allows more time for fun with both free choice and teacher-directed activities involving dramatic play, social studies, and science. Campers choosing this option should bring a pillow, blanket, and perhaps a stuffed animal to sleep with.

Jr. Day Camp for Entering Kindergarten and 1st Grade is a self-contained full-day program that integrates reading, writing, and mathematics in a fun and engaging way. Campers will have an opportunity to learn, discover, and connect with friends. Many activities are kid center where campers will learn new skills, perform on stage, play, make art, and explore the beautiful MPA campus and garden.

Note: We do not have a nurse on staff during the summer. If a camper is sick, parents will be notified to pick up their child.
