Camp Quest at the Farm, in partnership with Project Grows, is August 1st through 5th for children entering grades 3-6 in Fall 2022. Camp will be held 8:30am - 4:00pm with an after care option available. COVID Vaccinations and proof of vaccination are required for this camp.
Participants will be immersed in a hands-on, experiential, outdoor learning environment where they can discover how and where vegetables are grown, make connections between learning activities and the farm, participate in age-appropriate farm tasks, and explore healthy eating through tasting and cooking. Activities with Project GROWS involve exploration of the education space, production beds, sensory garden, greenhouse, high tunnels, and pollinator garden.
Along with the Project GROWS activities, participants will also experience Camp Quest activities that will allow youth to gain a sense of belonging in a supportive community. Inclusive programming seeks to help campers forge lasting friendships, cultivate empathy and explore humanist values. Campers will learn about freethought heroes and environmental responsibility. They’ll test applications of reason and empiricism during the beloved Socrates Cafe. They’ll even tackle complex philosophical problems and try to do the impossible: prove that unicorns do not exist. At the end of the program, campers will return home empowered to make change in their own communities.
