Wilderness Survival and Homestead Skills - Summer 4
Campers will spend half of each day at camp learning important skills that would be useful in a wilderness or remote homestead location. A possible range of activities would include making fires, foraging for food, identifying poisonous versus useful plants, shelter building, basic first aid, candle making, food preservation, and campfire cooking. The second half of each day at camp will be spent experiencing the classic ranch activities such as horseback riding, gardening, crafts, homestead snacks, games, and small animal time. Campers will not do all 6 “classic” activities each day but will be able to experience all of them at least once during their week at camp. Limited to 10 campers per session and ages 10-15.
