In Emerging Artists Company, students will participate in a rigorous acting class that will build on past experience and current competencies to develop vocal technique, physical commitment, script analysis, and the actor's imagination. Working with a script, the camp will culminate in a full-scale production with a set, costumes, and lighting designed and produced by local professionals. The show will be directed by our Education Director, Colin Peterson. The process is run like a professional production and is perfect for the student looking to grow and hone their acting skills.

You can split the comps over the weekend, however, there are four comps total for each student. If you have siblings in the show, both of those students receive four comps. Additional tickets will be available to purchase at $15 per ticket.

Show Description:
This summer, the Emerging Artists Company presents The Secret in the Wings.
Mary Zimmerman’s The Secret in the Wings adapts a group of lesser-known fairy tales to create a theatrical work that sets their dark mystery against her signature wit and humor. The framing story concerns a child and the frightening babysitter with whom her parents leave her. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize, with each tale breaking off just at its bleakest moment before giving way to the next one.
Content Warnings:
The content of this show is based on seven inter-woven fairy tales: "Allerleira", "Stolen Pennies", "The Princess Who Won't Laugh", "Three Blind Queens", "Beauty and the Beast", "Seven Swans", and "The Three Snake Leaves". These stories deal with themes of loss, abuse, death, lust, transformation, and unrequited love.
