Gardening
Description
If your child enjoys the gardening program at Redwood Day, then they'll love digging in the dirt after school with The Nurtured Seedling. In this Fall Gardening class series, students in grades 1st-3rd will embark on a hands-on exploration to connect with nature and learn about where their food comes from. They will plant and care for their crops while also expressing their creativity through art projects and cooking inspired by the beauty of a Fall Garden. Students will learn about soil health, composting, and eco-friendly gardening practices. While some projects will be things students can take home to care for or enjoy, we will also have group projects creating something for the school community-at-large that will live on well beyond this session. In this session, students will explore how to create positive social change through gardening, fostering teamwork, and promoting environmental stewardship, all while having fun with their friends!
