Knitting Club
Description
Join Wildwood Lifer Moreau Halliburton and Oak Pod associate teacher Sarah Porter, for Knitting Club! Moreau learned to knit when she was in second grade at Wildwood and ambitiously knit a sweater that she still has! Sarah has been knitting since third grade and loves creating pieces with dimension, such as socks, bags, and more importantly, chickens!

This class is structured so all levels are welcome. Beginner students will learn basic techniques such as finger knitting, casting on/off, and garter stitch. Students may also learn purl stitch, increasing/decreasing, colorwork, and how to read a knitting pattern. All materials will be provided, and experienced knitters are also welcome to bring in a personal project for help if desired. Knitting is a lifelong hobby that reduces stress, teaches patience and resilience, and builds fine motor skills.
