Join Elementary Art teacher Michael in Ceramics and Photography Camp. Students will split their time between clay and cameras for a deep dive into both art forms. Campers will explore all things ceramic—learning about kiln science and firing schedules, working on the pottery wheel to throw their own pots, experimenting with both stoneware and low-fire clays, and sculpting favorite creatures, characters, and foods. Artists will get to keep the work they create.

While clay pieces are drying or firing in the kiln, campers will shift focus to photography. Together, students will explore big questions like: What is light? How does a camera capture it? How can a photograph tell a story? Students will practice taking photos with digital cameras and learn how to work in a controlled studio environment. Every camper will have the chance to be both a ceramic artist and a photographer!
