Art and Design Lab
Description
$100 DISCOUNT EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: 2/15 - 3/1

In this well-rounded week of summer camp, students will explore the dynamic intersection of art, design, and technology. Campers will sculpt with clay, experiment with mixed materials, and use digital tools to design 3D structures and objects—some of which will be brought to life through 3D printing or sewing techniques. Does your child dream of designing their own fidget, toy, figurine, game piece, accessory, or collectible and then seeing it come to life? This camp makes that possible through hands-on, imaginative creation.

The program emphasizes creativity, exploration, and playful problem-solving. Students will sketch, prototype, build, test, revise, and reflect as they learn how artistic thinking and design processes translate across multiple mediums, from physical materials to digital fabrication.
The week culminates in a family share, where students will guide their families through their creative journey, showcasing sketches, clay sculptures, digital designs, and selected 3D-printed pieces. The focus is on process over product, celebrating curiosity, iteration, and growth.

Instructors: Jen DuBois, Wildwood’s Futures Lab Teacher and Educational Technology Coach, and Kendra Smith, Wildwood’s Visual Arts Teacher.
