Jewelry Makers Club: Art You Can Wear!
Description
Hayden, KA Associate teacher, will introduce students to the fun and creativity of jewelry making! Each week, students will learn to create different types of friendship bracelets and beaded jewelry, including necklaces, rings, and earrings, using a variety of materials such as string, wire, and colorful beads.
As a lifelong jewelry maker, I bring a strong background in this craft—I participated in jewelry-making classes throughout my childhood, attended a summer camp focused on jewelry design, and even started a small business during COVID where I sold handmade beaded rings. I’ve always believed that jewelry making is a wonderful skill for kids to learn—it strengthens fine motor skills, encourages creativity, and provides a calming, hands-on outlet for self-expression. Students will leave the class with a collection of handmade pieces they can gift to friends and family or simply enjoy themselves.
