6th-8th Grade - River Field Trip Program
Description
Give your students an unforgettable outdoor education experience at Sycamore Island!
6th–8th grade classrooms can join the River Parkway Trust for a day of exploration and adventure that includes canoeing and teambuilding activities designed to foster collaboration, leadership, and connection to the San Joaquin River.
During registration, you will select your field trip date.
Note: We have a minimum of 1 chaperone per group/classroom and maximum of 7 students : 1 chaperone ratio.
All 6th–8th grade field trips take place at Sycamore Island, a 600-acre site with river access located near Children’s Hospital in Madera. Sycamore Island is owned by the San Joaquin River Parkway Conservancy and managed by the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust.

Cost:
The field trip cost is based at a per classroom rate. $1,000 for the first classroom, $150 per additional classroom. To ensure adequate time for canoeing, there is a maximum of 3 classrooms per trip.
