Private Music Lessons w/ Brian Howard
Description
We’re excited to introduce private afterschool music lessons with Brian Howard for MFS students in 5th through 12th grade! Students will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills and receive individualized instruction from Brian after the school day.

Brian began his professional music journey at 15 when he received his AFM union card and began touring and recording as a songwriter, guitarist , bass player and lead singer with 11 bands over the years. He holds a BA degree in music composition from the University of California where he studied with such luminaries as Peter Fricker, Emma Lou Diemer, and Edward Applebaum. 2026 marks Brian’s 40th year in independent schools and his 20th year at MFS. He began teaching guitar at age 15 for a local music store in Northern California and has continued to teach privately over his entire career. When not music directing or teaching, Brian enjoys showing his two AKC champion Cardigan Welsh Corgi dogs with his vocal pedagogue wife Martha Lavender and playing guitar for his granddaughter.
