SAM Summer Acoustic Music Camp 2026

SAM Camp 2026 and the Pilgrim Firs Staff welcome you back to camp!

Here are some notes about our camp this year:
o This year’s Summer Acoustic Music in the Pines event will be held from the
afternoon of Sunday, August 30th through the morning of Friday, September 4th.
SAM registrants will be the only group at Pilgrim Firs during this time.

o Initial registration for this year’s SAM camp will be limited to 80 people. We’ll
keep a wait list if the camp is oversubscribed and open additional registration
spots if we can.

o The registration fee for this year’s camp will be $725.00 per person. In return
for this fee, the camp provides housing, bedding, towels and washcloths, three
meals each day, and night-time snacks. You can pretty much show up with your
instruments and personal gear and be perfectly comfortable.

o We’ll use the Pilgrim Firs cabins, South Lodge, and Huckleberry House for
housing, and you’re welcome to camp in a tent or stay in an RV. (No hookups for
RVs -- dry camping only.) Cabin occupancy will probably be limited to a
maximum of 6 people. We’ll make “reduced-occupancy” housing available if we
can; there’s a charge of $118 per person for the week for this, billed after camp.

o Registration is for adults over the age of 18 only, but please contact
mark@mahonia.com if you want to attend with a musically-ambitious junior and
we’ll see what we can do. No pets at camp, please.

o Absolutely no visitors or drop-ins while camp is in session, please.

o There will be an Infectious Disease Protocol in place for SAM, which will be
communicated before camp opens. Briefly, plan to test rigorously for Covid-19
just before you depart for camp, and understand that you’ll need to leave camp
should you become ill while in attendance; you must make contingency plans “just
in case” for this, and take it into consideration when making travel reservations.

Please be prepared to be flexible about all aspects of camp. The emergence of a
nasty new virus, for example, could throw all our plans into disarray. Do consider
the uncertainties if you are planning to make airline reservations.
