We’ll do an actual academic unit on “entomology” – the study of insects – by focusing on art, science, geography, geometry and literature as we study some of the most important creatures on this planet. Join us in the fun of building with LEGO bricks and elements to create your own designs. Or, work with others using LEGO base plates along with 1x2, 1x3, and 1x4 bricks as you discover the beauty of interlocking for strong “builds.” Each day there will be an “interlocking” challenge to make towers; then, participants may add windows, doors, fences, animals, vegetation and other unique pieces. We’ll create pyramids and mosaics, vehicles and facades, too. Participants also practice counting and estimation; verbal communication skills are enhanced as students describe their creations to others. Throughout the week, builders also cooperate with one another in the challenging task of disassembling, sorting and returning LEGO elements to the correct bins. It is an amazing week of exciting builds!
