Do you love learning about marine science and exploring ocean life? Join us for a fun-filled week in Canterbury’s equipt marine studies facility, the Cousteau Center of Marine Studies! In this immersive camp, young marine enthusiasts will gain hands-on experience exploring Tampa Bay’s beautiful ecosystems. Explore the underwater world of fish and their ecosystems in this action-packed week of discovery and adventure! Mornings will feature field excursions to exciting locations like Fort De Soto Beach and Weedon Island, where campers will learn about fish habitats through hands-on exploration, snorkeling, and collection activities. At the Cousteau Center for Marine Studies will immerse themselves in exciting science labs such as fish dissections, plankton investigations, and aquarium design, where campers will learn how to care for marine life responsibly. Weather permitting, campers will paddleboard or kayak through estuary waters to observe fish in their natural environment campers, and aspiring anglers will have the chance to learn fishing techniques and the principles of ethical angling, promoting sustainability and stewardship of marine resources. This camp is ideal for elementary and middle schoolers passionate about marine life, offering a balance of outdoor adventures, scientific exploration, and conservation learning.
