Camp Cook a Book
Description
This camp, taught by a licensed teacher, will help minimize “summer slide” as students engage with literacy activities, through the lens of food! We will read and utilize an acclaimed picture book each day. This book will be our springboard for learning fun! Diving into our imagination, we will use art, games, songs, and even baking to practice literacy skills that all tie back to a fantastic story. Each day will include a themed storytime, take-home craft, outdoor activities and interactive content instruction. This course, taught by a licensed teacher and Connections Academics Team Members, will have a small student to teacher ratio, allowing for an intimate and focused learning experience. We will present students with hands-on, peer interactive activities to create high engagement while practicing the foundational skills of reading, writing, and spelling.
