Sewing Club Tuesdays, 5th - 8th with Henrietta
Description
In this fun and hands-on sewing class, students will dive into the exciting world of machine sewing. We’ll start by learning the different parts of a sewing machine and understanding what each part does. From there, students will practice essential stitches, including straight stitch, zigzag, pivot, and curved stitching — the building blocks for any sewing project.

Our first major project will be designing and sewing a tote bag — a project drafted and customized by the students themselves.

This class is a great way to introduce young learners to a lifelong skill that promotes creativity, patience, and self-sufficiency. I’m thrilled to guide students as they gain confidence and have fun creating something from scratch.

Donations of loaner sewing machines, fabric and thread are greatly appreciated and will help more students experience the joy of sewing.

This club is from 3:30 - 4:30 with Henrietta Tattum.
This club starts on Oct 22nd and ends on Dec 17th.


Please be sure to note the end times for clubs, some of the clubs end at different times. Most clubs will begin at 3:30 pm.

Students are collected from Extended Day (Aftercare) by club instructors and then brought back to Extended Day when the club is over. Parents/Caregivers pick their children up from the gym.

Extended Day is included in the club price before the club begins. You will be charged for Extended Day if you do not promptly pick your child up when the club ends or if your child remains until 6:00 pm. There is a five minute grace period after which you will be charged for Extended Day. The fee for a late pick up or a child remaining in Extended Day is half the price of Extended Day.

Please note that clubs are non-refundable. Late registration requests are not guaranteed. Please email Miriam with late registration requests (marensberg@friendsschoolatlanta.org) after registration has closed. Switching clubs is also not guaranteed. It is important that you register before the deadline for instructors to plan for the number of students registered, rosters to be formed, and club spaces to be assigned. Club Instructors do their best to get a substitute when they cannot attend their club. However, there are times when an instructor must cancel. You will be notified as soon as possible if a club cancels.
