Maintenance Volunteer Application
Description
As a maintenance volunteer, you will support the property staff with daily upkeep and maintenance tasks throughout your week at camp. The role involves a variety of hands-on tasks to ensure the camp facilities are safe, clean, and operational for all guests. Whether you have specific skills in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work, or are simply ready to pitch in, your contribution will help create a great experience for everyone.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily maintenance and groundskeeping tasks.
- Assist with maintenance projects focused on enhancing the property.
- If you have expertise in areas such as carpentry, electrical work, or plumbing please note this in your registration. You may be assigned specialized tasks based on your skillset.

Typical Daily Schedule
- A daily schedule to complete maintenance tasks and projects, as well as occasional participation in camp wide activities and worship.
- Most days typically run from 9 AM to 6 PM, with breaks for lunch and activities.
- You may be asked to assist with overseeing a campfire in the evening.
- Tasks will vary each day, and there will always be something for everyone, whether you are experienced or new to maintenance work.

Qualifications:
- Two recommendations, one being from a current ministry leader (if applicable).
- Clearances and approval from Hope for Kids.
- Comfort with physical labor and working outdoors.
- Ability to lift, bend, and perform other physical tasks as needed.
- Willingness to work under the supervision of the property manager or property assistants.
- Volunteers are welcome to bring their own tools and work gloves, though basic tools will be provided by the camp.
- No prior experience is necessary; this role is open to volunteers of all skill levels.
If you do have specific skills (e.g., carpentry, plumbing, electrical work) please feel free to list that on your registration.
- Please bring close toed shoes and long pants (to prevent ticks). Please also bring clothing that you are comfortable getting dirty or stained.

Additional Volunteer Perks and Accommodations:
- When not assigned to maintenance tasks, you are welcome to participate in camp activities, devotionals, and enjoy fellowship with other volunteers.
- You will have downtime to relax and connect with fellow volunteers.
- Volunteers will stay in shared accommodations with other volunteers of the same gender, featuring twin camp beds and a shared bathroom.
- The cabins are not air conditioned but most cabins have ceiling fans. Additional fans are available in the Great Hall supply closet if needed.
