Gardening Volunteer Application
Description
As a Gardening volunteer, you will play a key role in supporting the overall operation of the camp by floating between various gardening tasks and assisting in different areas as needed. Your flexibility and willingness to pitch in will make camp beautiful!

Key Responsibilities:
- Landscaping/Gardening Support: As a gardener you will play a major role in our landscaping work. This may include; adding mulch to flower beds, planting flowers, arranging rocks/pavers in the garden, watering existing plants, etc.
- Beautification for Camp: As a gardener if you see trash in the flower beds, on the ground, etc. it will be your goal to pick it up on the way to your task. We want to make camp as beautiful as we can!

Typical Daily Schedule:
- 8 AM-9 AM Breakfast
- 9 AM- 12:30 PM Water flowers throughout the property. Assist with gardening/landscaping project or participate in R Camp activities.
- 12:30 PM -1:30 PM Lunch
- 1:30 PM -3 PM Rest Period or work on various projects
- 3 PM - 6 PM Work on landscaping projects or assist with camp activities..
- 6 PM - 7 PM Dinner
- 7 PM - Assist with dinner clean up, and/or participate in R Camp activities
Note: Times may vary depending on the needs.

Additional Volunteer Perks and Accommodations:
- When not working on a task, you are welcome to participate in camp activities, devotionals, and enjoy fellowship with other volunteers.
- Volunteers will stay in shared accommodations with other volunteers of the same gender, featuring twin camp beds and a shared bathroom.
- The cabins are not air conditioned but most cabins have ceiling fans. Additional fans are available in the Great Hall supply closet if needed.

Qualifications:
- Two recommendations, one being from a current ministry leader (if applicable).
- Clearances and approval from Hope for Kids.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in a variety of roles and assist in any area as needed throughout the day.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with other volunteers and camp staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Volunteer Attire: Please come ready to get muddy and dirty! We recommend wearing old sneakers, bringing old/outdoor clothes. This role is not recommended for someone who is worried about getting sweaty and dirty!
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle a variety of physical tasks such as placing mulch, planting flowers, carrying heavy watering cans, digging in the dirt, etc.
