High Adventure Team presents Into the Wild

Calling all GS Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors, and registered Adult members with a background check on file at council!

Love hiking and camping and want something more challenging? Try backpacking with other Girl Scouts! You'll learn new outdoor and team skills, meet girls with interests like yours, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

Previous backpacking experience not required, but hiking experience encouraged. Must be able to walk ~3 miles each way over varied terrain and carry ~25lbs.

You will be required to carry your own tent, personal gear, food and water. A pre-trip virtual meeting is required and will cover questions about gear and safety. Meals are provided and limited gear is available to borrow. Your confirmation email will have a PDF attached with details on how to borrow equipment.

We will be backpacking around beautiful Lake McMurtry near Stillwater, OK. 

We will have a Zoom meeting on April 9 at 6:30 pm to review gear for the trip. We will show several options that our guides typically use. This will also be an opportunity for you to let us know if anyone needs to borrow equipment from us instead of purchasing it for your first time. We need all participants to attend this Zoom meeting to get a basic understanding of backpacking gear as well as help with meal planning options.  You will receive the Zoom link in your confirmation receipt under "Additional Information," which should be highlighted in yellow.

We will do an official gear shakedown and pack on April 19. More details to follow.
