Percussio Orff Ensemble (1st Semester) - Thursdays
Description
Percussio is an Orff ensemble where students play beautiful soprano, alto, and bass xylophones, along with metallophones, glockenspiels, and hand percussion. The ensemble combines instruments with speech, movement, and song.

Percussio students learn eye-hand coordination, listening skills, and musical concepts while having fun! In rehearsal students use teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking to focus on learning music that honors God. Students learn new repertoire, correct playing technique, and strategies to help them develop as a growing musician. We also use improvisation as a way to have fun and compose new music.

All students in 3rd–6th grade are welcome! No audition is required. During rehearsals at school, students practice and memorize rhythms and mallet patterns. Some practice at home may be necessary. Materials and instructions will be provided by Mrs. Rowe as needed.
