Philharmonia Orchestra (1st Semester) - Tuesdays
Description
Looking for a great way for your student to explore and develop their God-given musical abilities? Join our after-school Philharmonia Orchestra, led by Mr. Himes!
True beginners (with no music experience) and returning members are all welcome as we meet on Tuesdays for fun, engaging lessons on violins, violas, cello, and bass. Students will make new friends, learn proper instrument technique, read rhythmic and melodic notation, become valuable ensemble members, and perform great music together for our community! This ensemble is also a solid stepping stone for participation in our dialectic orchestra in 7th grade!
Considerations for joining:
Each family will work with Mr. Himes to find their student an instrument to play, either from school, or rented from a local music store. Please contact Mr. Himes at mchimes@genevaschool.org if finances are a concern.
Regular attendance is expected as learned skills build from week to week and the group progresses together.
Students should expect to practice their fun exercises in between classes so we stay on point. Private lessons are highly encouraged but not required. Contact Mr. Himes if you are interested.
