Frequently Asked Questions

CHT - FAQ

Q:

What is Camp Holiday Trails?

A:Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) is an overnight camp for children with medical needs. Our Campers, ages 7-17, are welcomed from throughout the United States. Our staff creates a positive camp experience that has impact lasting long beyond the summer weeks. At CHT, our medical support allows campers to choose their challenge and try new activities and experiences.

We engage campers in traditional camp activities such as: archery, canoeing, high & low ropes, climbing wall, arts and crafts, horsemanship, swimming, athletics, nature, and music designed to build self-confidence, increase social competence, improve independence around personal medical care, and foster community.

Q:

Who attends CHT?

A:Children and teens with medical needs. Acceptance to CHT is based on a review of the camper's application by our Program and Medical staff and decisions are made considering space, health care needs and staffing ratios.

If your camper is not eligible based on our criteria, we are happy to provide you with a list of other camps that may meet your family’s needs.

Q:

How much does it cost to attend CHT?

A:The true cost of Camp is $1850 for a one week session and $3700 for a two week session. We ask families to pay a minimum of 10% of this cost.

Q:

How long does it take to complete the online Camper application?

A:Approximately 30-40 minutes

Q:

Do I have to make an appointment with my child's physician to have the Medical Assessment completed?

A:Yes. A MD or NP are able to complete the form. It must reflect a visit with the physician within six months of your Camper's scheduled session.

Application review will begin once we have a completed Medical Assessment form.

Q:

What if I don't have a copy of my child's Immunization Record?

A:Contact your child's physician or school to get a copy of their immunization record. If your child attended CHT last year, his/her immunization record should be on file - we will follow up with you if we are missing documentation of required immunizations.

All children attending CHT must be fully immunized - unless an immunization is not medically advised, in which case you must submit a medical exemption signed by your child's physician.

Q:

How do I make changes to the application?

A:1. Login
2. Click on the highlighted name under "Account Members"
3. Scroll to the bottom of this page to view/edit the forms in your application

Q:

I had to stop the application before I was finished. How do I restart?

A:1. Sign in to your account and click "Application " on the toolbar.
2. Under the heading "New Applications", find "Begin or finish an application for" and select the Camper's name.

The system will remember the information you already entered and you'll be able to pick up where you left off.
