Thank you for considering a Fernwood Summer Camp! Our Jon Meyer Nature Day Camps use Fernwood's forests, ponds, river, and prairie as the classroom. Hikes along nature trails, fun games, educational activities, and crafts open children to the wonders of nature while encouraging appreciation of the plants and animals of Michiana. The Roy and Ethelbel Knauer Art Camps combine the arts with natural sciences and are designed to stimulate curiosity, appreciation, and knowledge of the natural world. This year's theme is "Favorite Books, Inspired Art," with campers taking inspiration from Fernwood's gardens and natural areas to create a diversity of projects that include drawing, painting, tie dye, sculpture, and much more, all rooted in favorite childhood books. New this year are Mindfulness in Nature Camps, featuring nature-based projects, mindfulness practices, and creative movement to unplug campers from technology and refresh themselves.

Please note that nature and art camp activities remain the same for repeated sessions in age groups; you should only register for one session offered per age group. Activities will vary somewhat for Mindfulness in Nature camps across the season, allowing for attendance in multiple sessions. A welcome letter and full camp details will be sent out two to three weeks prior to your camp session.

Registration for Fernwood members opens at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 2nd; please contact Fernwood ahead of time to purchase or renew your membership and to receive the member discount code. Registration for the general public opens at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 9th. Session registration closes at the end of the day on the Friday before each session begins. If you would like to register after that day, please contact Fernwood directly to inquire about availability.

Registration MUST BE DONE by the parent/legal guardian as they are required to sign camp forms and releases. For others who want to pay for the child's camp, either provide your credit card information to the parent/legal guardian, reimburse them afterwards for the cost of camp, or purchase a Fernwood gift card (please work with the naturalist staff in advance of registration if you choose this option).
