Description
Intro to Kayaking is new for 2012 (Grades 5-6). This camp is specifically designed for 5th and 6th graders wanting to learn to kayak. Campers will spend three (3 hr) sessions in the kayak. They will learn all the basics in the comfort of the pool and lake. Then we will head to a local river to experience moving water. When the kayak campers are not on the water in their boats (all equipment is supplied) they will take part in normal camp activites. Camper will have thrilling evening theme parties, group worship, Bible studies, singing, and other great activities. Each camper will live in a cabin with fellow campers of the same age under the caring supervision of at least two counselors. Cabins are air conditioned, with bunk beds, and many have bathroom facilities in the cabin. With the centralized form of camping, participants will have the opportunity to fellowship with many other campers in their own age group, select their individual daily activities (except for the activity sessions dedicated to kayaking), participate in large group recreation and worship. The small group camp experience will take place through cabin and Bible study groups. Don’t miss out on the fun, fellowship, and faith development of these awesome camps!

Camper Activities List: Swimming, crafts, bouldering wall, creek walk, nature hike, fishing, indoor and outdoor games, paddling on the lake, guitar class, art/painting class, snorkeling at pool, 9-iron golf, archery, campouts, low ropes course, group initiatives, mountain biking, climbing wall and zip-line, high ropes course including zip-line, and visiting the horses at the Camp Lookout Barn. Off-site activities include Cloudland Canyon State Park, and caving.

This list includes more activities than can be done in any one week. Time, availability, and even weather contribute to the actual activities that are part of the camper experience.
