Camp Lookout
Horseback I Camp (Grades 5-6)
7/23/2012 - 7/27/2012
Grades 5th - 6th
Registration for this session is no longer available
Horseback I Camp (Grades 5-6) provides a great introduction to horseback riding. Campers will have three 3-hour riding sessions at the horse facilities at Camp Lookout. Campers will be taught the fundamentals of caring for horses, basic riding skills, and will experience arena riding. The focus is on safety and horsemanship, with the goal of increasing the rider’s confidence. When campers are not at the Camp Lookout barn with the horses, they will be enjoying the regular camp activities that they choose. Along with all the great activities, each camper will be a part of all the fun and excitement of the total camp community through special evening celebrations, Bible studies, worship, cabin devotions, and of course all the great singing and crazy camp stuff that is planned! This will be an exciting week that will also be special in the spiritual life of each camper.

Camper Activities List: Swimming, crafts, bouldering wall, creek walk, nature hike, fishing, indoor and outdoor games, paddling on the lake, guitar class, art/painting class, snorkeling at pool, 9-iron golf, archery, campouts, low ropes course, group initiatives, mountain biking, climbing wall, high ropes course including zip-line, and visiting the horses at the Camp Lookout Barn. Off-site activities include Cloudland Canyon State Park, and caving.

This list includes more activities than can be done in any one week. Time, availability, and even weather contribute to the actual activities that are part of the camper experience.
