Camp Lookout
Skateboard Camp (Grades 5-6)
6/25/2012 - 6/29/2012
Grades 5th - 6th
Registration for this session is no longer available
Do you love skateboarding? Do you want to learn how to skate? Are you ready to land some new tricks? Then Skateboard Camp (Grades 5-6) is for you. This NEW camp (first time offered at Camp Lookout) is for beginners through intermediate level skaters. Campers in this camp will spend three (3 hours each) sessions skateboarding. One session will be flat land work with a few elements to challenge those more advanced riders. Two sessions will be held at a local skateboard park. Camp Lookout will lease the facility which will enable campers to have better instructions and fewer skaters to deal with on the ramps. An emphasis will be placed on safety, basic skating skills, and landing great tricks. When skateboard campers are not out working on their skating skills, they will be enjoying the regular routine of camp. With the centralized style of camping, participants will have the opportunity to fellowship with many other campers in their own age group, select their individual daily activities and participate in large group recreation and worship. The small group camp experience will take place through cabin and Bible study groups. This will be an exciting and fun week that will also be special in the spiritual life of each camper.

Equipment Requirements: Each camper will need a skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads

Camper Activities List: Swimming, crafts, bouldering wall, creek walk, nature hike, fishing, indoor and outdoor games, paddling on the lake, guitar class, art/painting class, snorkeling at pool, 9-iron golf, archery, campouts, low ropes course, group initiatives, mountain biking, climbing wall and zip-line, high ropes course including zip-line, and visiting the horses at the Camp Lookout Barn.
