Camp Lookout
Whitewater Kayaking I (Grades 8-12)
6/27/2011 - 7/1/2011
Grades 8th - 12th
Registration for this session is no longer available
Learn to paddle a kayak in this basic kayaking camp! You will learn all the fundamentals of paddling in the safety of our pool and lake before progressing to the Hiwassee River for the real thing. Each participant of this camp will have the opportunity to paddle both the lower and upper sections of the Hiwassee River. We will use the lower section to work on our paddling skills before we head to the upper section to test out what we have learned. Campers will spend two nights camping out at the Hiwassee River. While the days are full of paddling, there will be plenty of time in the evening for singing, devotions, worship and fellowship. In addition to kayaking, as time allows, campers may have the opportunity to participate in other adventure activities. All of this takes place in a special God-centered community of peers.

Camper Activities List: Caving, mountain biking, fishing, climbing/rappelling wall, visiting the horses at the Camp Lookout Barn, and the full ropes course, v-swing, and water slide.

This list includes more activities than can be done in any one week. Time, availability, and even weather contribute to the actual activities that are part of the camper experience.

Whitewater Kayaking I (Grades 8-12) begins Monday 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. and ends Friday with a 2:00 p.m. closing.
