TECHNOLOGY BOOT CAMP

Computer Hardware, Networking & AI for Grades 3-8

Program Overview

What is a CPU? What is a Mother Board? What is a Modem?

Technology Bootcamp is a hands-on summer camp designed to introduce students in grades 3-8 to the fascinating world of computer technology. Through age-appropriate activities, students will explore computer hardware, networking concepts, and artificial intelligence while developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
The bootcamp may culminate with an optional field trip to the Computer History Museum, in Mountain View, time permitting.

Program Goals

• Demystify computer technology through hands-on exploration
• Build foundational knowledge in hardware, networking, and AI
• Develop computational thinking and problem-solving skills
• Foster creativity through technology-based projects
• Inspire interest in STEM careers

Parent & Guardian Communication

Maintaining strong communication with families is essential to the program's success:
• Pre-camp orientation meeting for parents and students
• Daily email updates with photos and activity summaries
• Weekly progress reports on skills development
• Final showcase/open house for family presentations
• Take-home resources to continue learning

Program Outcomes & Next Steps

By the end of Technology Boot Summer Camp, students will have gained practical knowledge of computer systems, developed digital literacy skills, and discovered the exciting possibilities of technology. They'll leave with:
• Hands-on experience with computer hardware and networks
• Understanding of how AI works and its role in society
• Resources for continued learning at home
• New friendships with fellow tech enthusiasts

Most importantly, students will develop confidence in exploring technology and a curiosity that extends beyond the camp experience. They'll see themselves as capable creators and problem-solvers in our increasingly digital world.

Device Requirement: Devices with keyboard capable of running python.

Cooking:
Our most popular track! Little chefs will create professional and delicious sweet and savory items using child-friendly recipes and only vegetarian, egg-free ingredients. Students gain hands-on chef skills, learn basic kitchen techniques, and experience the joy of making food while building confidence in a fun, supportive environment. (Menu will be shared soon.)
