Description
SOCIAL SCIENCES (HISTORY,GEOGRAPHY & CIVICS) & VEX GO CAMP
Exploring Technology, History, and Community
Social Sciences
History
Children explore history through stories, timelines, and interactive discussions that help them understand how people lived in the past, how communities have changed over time, and why important events and leaders matter. Lessons go beyond textbooks to make history relatable, engaging, and meaningful for young learners.
Geography
Students learn about the world through maps, globes, and fun activities that introduce continents, oceans, countries, landforms, and climates. Geography sessions help children understand where people live, how environments differ, and how geography shapes cultures and daily life.
Civics
This component introduces children to community roles, rules, and responsibilities in an age-appropriate way. Students learn how schools, neighborhoods, and local governments work, why rules are important, and how being a good citizen means helping others, respecting differences, and participating positively in society.
VEX GO Robotics
We are excited to introduce VEX GO Robotics at ICC, Milpitas, completing the full VEX Robotics pathway for students from 1st through 12th grade. Designed especially for young learners, this beginner-friendly robotics program allows children to build simple robots, explore motors, gears, and sensors, and learn how robots move, turn, and respond to their environment.
Students engage in hands-on projects and use easy, visual coding to make their robots perform basic actions such as moving forward, stopping, turning, and avoiding obstacles—sparking curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills through play-based engineering.
