Neo Stop Motion Studio

Device Expectations: Windows, Mac, iPads, or Android tablets (compatible with Google Play Store) with Bluetooth connectivity. Chromebooks will NOT work. Stop Motion Pro software must be installed prior to the first day of camp.

Who doesn’t love an action-packed animation movie that brings our favorite toys to life? The Neo Stop Motion Studio program exposes students to more than just watching those movies—they get to create them!

In this technical program, children work in teams to learn the fundamentals of stop-motion animation and develop their own animated movie starring LEGO® mini-figures. Students go through the entire movie-making process with a filming partner, from plot development and set design to detailed visual and audio editing. The best part? Their movie will be uploaded to NeoXRobotics YouTube channel, allowing them to share their film with friends and family for years to come!

What Students Will Learn

Technology Skills
Students utilize stop-motion software to create, edit, design, add sound, and upload their animations. They practice precision, maneuvering menus, and finding the right tools to bring their creative visions to life.

Fundamentals of Storytelling
Students learn and master the five fundamental elements of storytelling — characters, setting, plot, conflict, and resolution — while creating their own story. The program emphasizes movie planning, storyboarding, and execution, fostering better storytelling skills both in and out of the classroom.

Teamwork & Partner Skills
Small groups and peer partners are key to this program. Students develop positive teamwork skills, respectful collaboration, and group planning abilities, while sharing materials and ideas to successfully complete their projects.

Advanced Art

The art component blends classic techniques with innovative approaches to challenge and grow each child’s inner artist. Students experiment with advanced art concepts, materials, and styles, drawing inspiration from traditional methods. Sessions encourage creative risk-taking, self-expression, and skill-building, helping young artists refine techniques while exploring new and imaginative ways to create.
