Description

Teens in Action is more than just community service.  Teens in Action is a club dedicated to teens exploring what matters to them and creating a plan to improve their communities.  It is where teens can challenge themselves and take on leadership to achieve their goals and become a positive force for their community.  This program is built on Camp Fire’s long standing belief that youth are part of the solution to, and not the problem with, today’s social and environmental challenges.  The ultimate goal of these programs is to bring together like minded teens who want to make a difference in their communities and the world.

Teens in Action:

This club will meet every other week to explore their interests, identify community needs, generate ideas, and create and implement solutions.  After the first meeting, we will decide as a group on the best time and place for our regular meetings.  This club will also meet on other days that are planned and set by the group.  We will meet at various locations, generally in the downtown area, from January through May.

The first meeting will be Wednesday, January 10th, 5:30-7 pm, in the Hutchinson Room at the downtown public library. (Meet in the lobby.). If you can't make this meeting, but still want to be part of the club, sign up anyway!  Let us know you won't be there by emailing info@campfireco.org and we will contact you for your input on the best times to meet for you.

Sliding Scale:

Many teen programs are offered on a self selecting sliding scale basis.  The full cost to join a Teens in Action club is $125.  If you would still like to participate, but the cost is a barrier, please choose a reduced rate of $95 or apply for a full scholarship after you pay the non-refundable fee of $30.

Please choose the amount that you can afford so we can continue to offer options for those who can afford less.

Financial Aid:

As a nonprofit organization, Camp Fire is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships based upon financial need thanks to United Way of Deschutes County, the Every Kid Fund, and many generous corporate sponsors, foundations and individual donors. Please complete our simple Financial Assistance Form after you have created a Camp Fire log in and before you register for individual sessions.

You must pay the non-refundable fee at check out.  If you are not approved for a scholarship, you will have the opportunity to choose your price on the sliding scale.  If you choose not to do the program based on denial of financial assistance, your non-refundable fee will be returned to you.
