Description

Discovery: Trail to the Environment (Grades 5 & 6)

Home is Where the Habitat Is

Youth will develop an understanding and appreciation of the natural world by providing activities exploring nature, environmental awareness and habitats.

Our afterschool club programs meet weekly and thread together over the year to guide youth through Camp Fire's age-specific, growth mindset-based national curriculum, exploring what are called "Trails"--themes that build life skills, understanding and a child's sense of self-worth. Clubs are grouped by age/grade level and explore the Trail theme with age-appropriate activities.

Price per Six-Week Session:

The price per six-week session is $48. In addition, Camp Fire's Annual Membership is required and costs $65 for the first child and only $130 for the whole family, regardless of the number of children. (The Membership Fee will show up at checkout as an "Additional Fee".)

Location: Amity Creek Elementary School

This year we are trying something new. All afterschool clubs will be meeting at the centrally located Amity Creek Magnet School. You do not need to attend Amity Creek in order to participate in this club. Meet in the gymnasium for group games before breaking into small groups.

Meeting Times: MONDAYS 4:00 - 5:15 PM (September 11, 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16)

This club will meet for six weeks on Monday afternoons. Arrive between 3:30 - 4:00 PM to enjoy some games and a snack (please provide from home) before the program begins.

Financial Aid:

As a nonprofit organization, Camp Fire is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of partial scholarships based upon financial need thanks to United Way of Deschutes County, the Every Kid Fund, and many generous individual donors. Please complete our simple Financial Assistance Form after you have created a Camp Fire log in.

Space is Limited:

Camp Fire Clubs are kept small to ensure a great Adult:Youth ratio and create the best learning experience possible. If the club is sold out, please add yourself to the waiting list as we may be able to accommodate you at a different location, or if there is enough interest, we may start an additional club.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:
