Description
“Wood warms twice — once when cut and again when burned.” There are few more cozy images on a cold winter day than that of a fire in the fireplace.

Pilgrim Center is blessed with a beautiful wooded site on the shores of Green Lake. The natural cycle of life is always at work at camp with new trees taking root every year, and trees that have been part of camp for thousands of campers taking leave of life. This work weekend is open to everyone who wants to help in tackling the many tasks at camp, but most specifically to those who want to get out in the woods and get in touch with the centuries-old task of stocking up wood for
the winter! We’ll cut, split, stack and make room in God’s woods for new trees to sprout and grow — and be part of the experience of
camp for decades to come! Tune up your chain saw and bring it for a weekend of hearty work.

Even if you don’t have a saw, there is a lot of work you can do as we cut, split, and stack in anticipation of the cold days of winter.

ScholarshipsSCHOLARSHIP AVAILABLE. Talk with your pastor, Christian education director, camp coordinator, youth leader, or men’s and women’s groups to find out if they offer any scholarship help for members of your church. Often churches and church groups are happy to assist any and all campers attending camp from their church. In addition to any support from your home church UCCI has established a scholarship fund through the generosity of past campers. Scholarship application forms are available on our web site at www.ucci.org or by contacting the Managing Director at the site you are planning to attend. All scholarship inquiries are confidential.
