Description: |
The Wayzata Community Sailing Center is offering lessons for adults. Taught safely in J22 keelboats, WCSC is proud to offer classes that will follow the US Sailing Keelboat Training Curriculum. Adults of all ages can learn the basics of sailing right here in Wayzata or can choose to have their lessons center more on a racing based curriculum.
The Level I Basic Keelboat class is 15 hours of hands on instruction with classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with a make-up or review day on Friday from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. Upon completion, sailors will be able to competently sail a day-sailor or small keelboat on inland waters in moderate conditions without challenge. Upon completion of the level I course sailors will be eligible to take the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification test.
The Level 2 Basic Keelboat class is 15 hours of hands on instruction with classes on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with a make-up or review day on Friday from 6:00 - 8:30 PM. Course materials will cover trimming their boat for speed, proper use of spinnakers, introductory racing techniques and more. Upon completion of level 2 sailors will be able to pass the US Sailing Basic Keelboat Certification test.
