ICC MAIN CENTER SUMMER CAMPS 2024: VEX VRC SUMMER CAMP

Take the next step in your robotics career at our immersive one-week VEX VRC camp, tailored for students aged 10-15. Enter the world of VEX V5 products as you design, build, and program a robot to complete the challenges of the 2023-2024 game, Spin Up! Through hands-on work, students will learn the fundamentals of the engineering design process, creating powered drivetrains and creative scoring mechanisms. Students will program the bot using the VEX VS Code Library using C++. Join us at Milpitas ICC from 9 am to 3:30 pm for a week of innovation, collaboration, and entertainment using VEX VRC!

Day 1: Overview of Robotics
-Overview of Game
-Form teams and Plan Robot ( Drivetrain + intake + Scoring Mech if time)
-Begin Building- Get Familiar with the game pieces and hardware components

Day 2 - Building:
- Building Agenda + Drivetrain Slidedeck
-Build Period - Start and Finish Drivetrain, Begin Intake for teams who finish early

Day 3 - Building:
-Check-in/Agenda Overview + Intake Slidedeck
-Build Period - Start and Finish Intake, Alternate scoring mech for those who finish

Day 4 - Building/Coding:
-General Coding
-Autonomous Coding
-Finish Building if Necessary or Done coding autonomous, drivetrain, and intake

Day 5 - Competition:
-Competition Overview
-Practice Matches ( Before Break)
-Skills Challenges + More Practice Matches ( After Break)
-Actual Competition ( After Lunch)


Note: This is a beginner level camp; no prior robotics knowledge will be required. The coaching material in the form of presentations will be provided in each class. Instructions, parts, and tools required for building the robot will be provided to build a VEX robot. Each team will need to bring their own laptop or tablet to program the robot.
