Deployment 24-01
Description
Eligible students must be entering the 7th-12th grade AND be 11-17 years old. Students cannot have graduated high school or have turned 18 years old prior to or during the program.

NFA’s 6-day Deployment program is an immersive, in-person experience for rising 7th-12th graders who are 11-17 years old to engage in STEM educational exercises. This is executed through our land-locked virtual aircraft carrier AMBITION (CVT-11). Through an engaging atmosphere as life as a Naval Aviator onboard an aircraft carrier, students (AMBITION eXperimental Pilots/AXPs) participate with their Flight Leads (Counselors) and Squadron teammates to complete humanitarian-based missions and tasks within their Carrier Airwing Group (CAG). Missions progressively become more challenging throughout the week as the AXPs advance their aviation science skills as well as their communication skills. They encounter challenges that incorporate cyber security, underwater remote operated vehicles, and more. Specifically, the NFA’s 6-day Deployment allows for students to gain awareness of various concepts in aviation, air traffic control, and aviation maintenance. Students become aware of the integration of these skills into their daily lives by measuring, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data. National Common Core Standards for Math and Science, as well as National Benchmarks in both mathematics and science are addressed in the core curriculum of our program.
