CAIS Spring 2024 Camping
Description
Attention CAIS Campers! Presenting the Spring 2024 edition of CAIS Family Camping at Olema Campground on the weekend of May 17th-19th, 2024. This is a great opportunity to spend time with the awesome people in the CAIS community!

The fun begins as early as Friday afternoon for those who choose to get a head start on the weekend. Other campers will arrive on Saturday morning in time for lots of outdoor activities—such as playing soccer at the campground or visiting nearby beaches and parks. The evening includes a community barbecue, fun around the campfire and s'mores for all. This Camp will no doubt add its own special events to the growing lore of CAIS Family Camp. Be part of the fun! If camping is not your thing, consider staying at nearby lodging and/or joining us for the Saturday night community dinner. This year we are opening up a limited number of Dinner-Only spots (see below).

Olema Campground is located on Route 1 in Olema about an hour north of San Francisco. There’s plenty of open areas for playing so bring bikes, frisbees, jump ropes, badminton sets, s’more sticks, etc! Bathrooms and water spickets are easily accessible. The campsite store is open until 5:00 pm and sells firewood, ice, and a few other necessities.

We welcome everyone to participate in the Saturday night barbecue; all other meals are on your own. Pt Reyes Station, a small town with a grocery store, casual and gourmet eateries, is a 5 min drive away. Oyster farms are a 15-30 min drive away.

Two families will share each campsite, and each campsite is equipped with one picnic table and one fire ring. There is space for one car per family. RVs must be in the RV area. Camper vans must also be in the RV area if they have a holding tank for sink, toilet or shower. Additional cars must be parked at the Campground’s central lot. Campsites must be cleared by noon the next day, e.g. Sunday noon for most people. Campsite assignments will be sent out by email approximately one week before the event.

The Saturday night communal barbecue will feature snacks, traditional grilled meats, salmon, veggies, and s'mores for kids of all ages!

This year we are opening up to Dinner Only Guests. We are setting aside about 45 day-use spots. You must select both the day use pass and a dinner option for each family member. If those spots are used up then please select the dinner-only waitlist in the dinner option. We will open up more dinner only options if space allows.

Special Note: Each adult family member is expected to participate in some way in putting on the communal Saturday night barbecue. Select how you'd like to volunteer during the checkout process! Be sure to check both Friday & Saturday night camping if you plan a 2-night trip.

We’re expecting a large crowd so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible ensuring you get a camping spot! Sign-up starts March 25th at 10am. Sign-ups will end April 5th and refund requests will end April 10th.
