Music Educator Summer Academy
Description
This professional development course is a partnership between Alfred Music & MakeMusicCloud and the Community Arts School at Baldwin Wallace University. Participants will have access to over 25 hours of virtual courses that are matched with exclusive opportunities to join live virtual group discussions with course nationally recognized instructors, authors, composers, and fellow educators in a collaborative setting. These courses will cover a variety of topics that are relevant for today’s PK-12 music educators. Virtual courses will include: Interactive Strategies to Engage Your Students; Connecting Through the Baton; Mastering The Operational Dynamics of the K-12 Music Classroom; Creating a Dynamic Classroom Environment: Strategies to Attract and Maintain Engaged Students; and Improvisation in the Music Education Classroom. Students will also have access to 10 live virtual Mastermind Sessions with nationally recognized instructors, authors, composers, and fellow educators in a collaborative setting. This course is a professional development program that fosters a supportive network to connect, exchange ideas, grow, and create life-long friendships with fellow music educators. The partnership will be led by Dr. David Pope (Associate Professor of Music Education at Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts). Participants will earn one (1) graduate credit hour.
