Introduction to Cryptography (AM) | Game Theory (PM) (Grades 5-8)
Description
INTRODUCTION TO CRYPTOGRAPHY (10am-12pm): Did you know that math lurks behind writing in secret codes? Students will be introduced to cryptography and a variety of other mathematical concepts aimed at encouraging exploration, as well as kindling a joy for future mathematical and academic pursuits. In teams, students will create messages and solve a campus-wide scavenger hunt with cryptic clues. Campers will experience numerous other opportunities to explore math concepts in a fun and supportive environment. Designed for students entering grades 5 – 8. $150

GAME THEORY - (1-3pm) Students will be introduced to a variety of games and will explore the math concepts lurking behind the scenes. In teams, students will play and discover the math behind card tricks, winning strategies, and determine if games are ‘fair’. Campers will experience numerous other opportunities to explore math concepts in a fun and supportive environment. Designed for students entering grades 5 - 8. $150
