Ms. Joy's Spring Painting Workshop--Individualized Artworks
Description
Lower School art teacher Joy Liberman will offer painting workshops for students in grades 5-12 at various skill levels. These workshops are open to current SPA students, and are designed to broaden visual awareness and assist in the development of skills with painting media. Lessons address individual goals and include technical instruction, warm-up exercises and group discussion. Small class sizes ensure individualized attention. Each workshop begins with an introduction and reinforcement of the use of acrylic paint media.

Students attending this workshop will demonstrate previous painting experience acquired through my workshops, school classes, or other painting classes. Day one will begin with a brief review of studio procedures, with the rest of our time spent preparing for the creation of the students’ personal painting project. In terms of subject matter, this workshop is designed to be individualized according to each painters’ goals. I will assist students in selecting subject matter and finding resource materials. Working from observation in the form of photographs or other printed materials is advised as a starting point. My goal is to mentor students by giving feedback about color, composition and technique.

If you have questions about the schedule or your student's placement, please contact Joy Liberman (joyliberman58@spa.edu).
